Summary: This is a CURRENT EVENT online project based on the Mallard Duck in Washington DC!! We will have math worksheets, literature tie-ins (Make Way For The Ducklings), coloring sheets, and more!!

As an added bonus, we will have a couple of special events such as "Name the Duck" and "Guess The Due Date".

Full Project Description:

This project will tie in the current event story -- of the treasury duck -- with the book "Make Way For Ducklings!"

We will have worksheets, coloring pages, lesson ideas, and more!! We will also have a "Name the Duck" contest and a "Guess the Hatching Day" as well.

Links will be available to newspaper articles and also information about mallard ducks in general.

This is a K - 2 project only!

Objectives:

To provide information to students about the Treasury Duck in DC. To provide students with information about Mallard Ducks. To use literature "Make Way For Ducklings" become real with a "true life" event in Washington, DC. To provide teachers with useful resources in teaching this current event and book in a fun and new way.

Registration Information

Registration Status: Closed

Registration Dates: 4/13/05 to 5/01/05

Registration Instructions: This project will last from April 14th until 1 week after the hatching of the ducklings at the Treasury Department.

Registration will begin on April 13th. All K - Second Graders in the United States are welcome to join in.
