Summary: Students will be writing postcards to US soldiers all over the world. This is an on-going project. Generic templates will be available for teacher use.

Teachers are invited to print out the templates and involve their students in writing servicemen and women all over the world.

Students WILL NOT sign their own name but instead give a generic salutation such as "A Third Grader From Crossroads Christian School".

Full Project Description:

Students from all over the USA are invited to write postcards to US soldiers all over the world.

Templates will be provided for teacher use. Templates are generic and teachers are also encouraged to create their own.

VETERAN'S DAY PROJECT -- We have been asked to adopt the 143d Transportation Command (over 6,000 servicemen/women) and will be sending out cards by November 12th. Also, addresses will be provided for several Veteran's Hospitals so that you can write our servicemen/women who have served the USA in the past.

Classes are invited to participate only one time OR as many times as they wish.

New templates will be added seasonally.

Objectives:

To provide writing opportunities in the classroom. To provide teachers with a creative way to make writing fun. To provide students the opportunity to realize that the world is bigger than their classroom. To involve students in a small act of patriotism by writing postcards to servicemen and women.
