Title: That's The Way The Cookie Tumbles (ID:1961)

Summary: Join us in our 4th year of Online Projects with oreo cookies. This year we will be stacking oreos. It will involve measurement, estimation, counting, comparing, problem solving, and more!!

Full Project Description:
Each class will divide its students into 4 groups. (You will need to purchase 2 bags of oreos (not double stuff) per class.
Teams will work together to stack oreos as high as they can until them tumble down. There is NO MANIPULATION of the shape (flatness) of the oreo allowed. (Each team may have 3 attempts at stacking.)
Students will compare their effort with those of the other 3 groups. Teachers can initiate and provide a time for students to discuss cause and effect, etc.
All team tallies will be submitted via the internet with a form provided. Pictures of STACKED oreos (before they tumble) are encouraged.
Each class that participates will be awarded with a participation certficate.
Objectives:
Communication via the internet with schools participating in a fun project. Additional math skills, teamwork, fun, and eating the experiment are perks!!
