Full Project Description:
Virtual field trip to Antarctica with experts in field of biology, meteorology, exploration, etc. Classroom activities follow 2 threads: food webs or weather/climate. Lab activities and real data provided. Additional data collected by students. Students research via the Web, analyze data, interact with experts. Student work published on Web site.
Objectives:
To learn the basics of food webs and/or weather climate through a virtual field trip to the 7th continent; to allow students to query field scientists and other experts; to teach stewardship of the earth; to provide an interactive forum for student discussion.
