Description of Our Community: Taiwan is an island nation located in East Asia. Like some countries, education plays an important role in our community’s development which has made significant progress, but several challenges and issues have appeared and require attention. Some critics argue that Taiwan’s curriculum is too rigid and exam-oriented and has a lack of creativity that may hinder the development of critical thinking and other skills. Lately, some activists have begun to promote space education providing an environment where children can develop their creativity from art and architecture.

Project Description: For this project, our group researched space education and the organization, Learn By Space, aiming to provide a better understanding of space education and its importance. Students can improve their understanding of science, mathematics, engineering, and other subjects through space education. This approach to teaching fosters spatial thinking skills and enhances problem-solving abilities, which were limited due to the education system in Taiwan that mainly focuses on coping exams and tests rather than developing students’ comprehensive skills. Participation in the cyber fair lets us learn more about a topic that is rather essential to our community but people explore less into leaders who stand up to help improve our society. Interviews and surveys were conducted during our research, these research techniques allowed us to accumulate the public’s knowledge and opinions, and understand the reasons and motivation behind these activists and their sacrifice. In summary, the research enables individuals to know more about the importance of space education.
