Walking through Daxi Old Street feels like stepping back in time. The streets are lined with quaint, red-brick buildings, many adorned with intricate Baroque-style facades and wooden carvings that speak volumes of the skilled craftsmanship of the era. The area is not just an architectural marvel but also a bustling hub of local life and culture. The old street is famous for its traditional Taiwanese snacks and treats, like tofu pudding and dried persimmon, which are must-tries for any visitor.
