Description of Our Community: Neimen District in Kaohsiung is located in the mountainous area with few plains and a small population. However, Neimen is nicknamed "Home of the Chefs", for it has the most chefs in Taiwan. Official statistics released in March, 2005 show that there are about 150 qualified chefs in the district, indicating that one in every five households was involved in catering business. The rise of catering in Neimen is closely related to the local economic development and the active cultural industry.

Project Description: A roadside banquet is a dieting activity that originates from a dense interpersonal connection in neighborhood under local customs and living environments that have been sharing for a long time. The scope of this project of Neimen roadside banquet covers not only an introduction of the rise and fall of the business in this district but also a dietary connotation in Taiwan’s catering business.
