Description of Our Community: The project is devoted to bringing back the memory about the Jewish community of Tarnow from before the WWII, whose overwhelming majority perished during the Holocaust. The reason for choosing this topic is that the contemporary residents of Tarnow know very little, next to nothing, about the Jewish residents of their city who used to constitute 45% of its population.

Project Description: Entitled "Permeation", the project aimed at creating a multimedia exhibition of photoshopped photographs of old and contemporary residents of Tarnow. The photos were accompanied by quotations from testimonies of Holocaust Survivors and by video footage related to the places shown in the photos.

The research was carried out by students from Janusz Korczak High School in Tarnow in cooperation (both online and in real world) with students from Harel High School from Israel as well as with the Holocaust Survivors from Tarnow who now live in the US and Israel. Some of the institutions that helped us were the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem, the Tarnow Culture Center and the Regional Museum in Tarnow.

The exhibition was presented for 4 months in the Tarnow Culture Center and then was put on display in Israel, in Harel High School, where it is still open to the public.
