Description of Our Community: Our Project is mainly centered on how and what Classic Music is applied to our daily life. In addition, we would like to know how Classic Music is used cross-driplines and what local Art and Cultural-related events are practiced with the combination of Classic Music. With our school-based Kaohsiung Junior High School Students' Symphony, we carefully designed a questionnaire to collect data of the general public in Kaohsiung city in order to learn their values, understandings, and appreciations of Classic Music. Also, we conduct several in-depth interviews with experts of the field of Classic Music of our local community to further probe the questions proposed in our project.

Project Description: Kaohsiung City has been devoting herself into cultural and musical industries, especially the City government putting efforts on cultivating professional experts in the field of Fine Arts and Music education. It is the City government’s hope that through the educational projects in educating professions in the above fields, the city can be transformed from its original industrial city to a city that is previously considered as “a cultural desert to a cultural oasis”. With concerns of these, in this web project, we investigated the music educational plans in Kaohsiung through brief literature review, conducted in-depth interviews with several experts in the filed of classical music related professions and surveyed the general public’s opinions on the musical and cultural events held in Kaohsiung City, using “a triangulated research data analysis method” to better probe the questions we proposed in this web project.
