Description of Our Community: Taiwan is located in the west of Taiwan Strait. It is a bridge that connects the Pacific Ocean and China. Since the business between every country became much busier, the ports have been developed quickly, and Kaohsiung played an important role in it. Kaohsiung was called “takau” until Japanese colonic rule, Japanese rewrote as Kaohsiung with the assonance of “takau”, carrying out the assonance in 1920. During the Japanese colonial period, the Kaohsiung port was built, and the purpose was intent to use it as a gangplank to extend the colony toward to Southeast Asia. The busy port operation contributed the economic prosperity of Kaohsiung and let it become the 2nd city in Taiwan. The special shape, path of the river and mountain here, which made it be a nature shield to the Kaohsiung port. The scenery is very beautiful and different at four seasons, and it ornaments every corner in Kaohsiung. The friendliness and enthusiasm of these people melt the ice-cold of the urbanization. AT here, Kaohsiung is surrounded by love, harmony and sea breeze.
Project Description: With the rise and fall of the Kaohsiung port, the Taiwanese have the same situation with the prosperity and fading of it. We utilize the below methods to link and obtain the opinion about the most popular topic in the worldwide the balance between the economic development and environmental protection .By doing this, we can get and realize the relationship between the background of Taiwan and the industrial development: (1)Introduce the history, the geographical features, and the place of cultural interest .(2)By means of interviewing the visitors, inhabitant…etc, to query the comment and suggestion about the Kaohsiung port, it show their love, expectation and future for the special port with surrounded sea breezing and spraying during the interviews .By reading this research result, we hope that you can enjoy the plenty of information of the study, and have a different view point to understand more about the Kaohsiung port and the city.
