Description of Our Community: The description of location: The research material of our topic that we are going to present is from the magazine called “The Big Issue Taiwan.” The current address is No. 30-12 Beiping E. Road 2nd Floor, Zhongzheng district of Taipei City. The subjects range from current event, social issues and cultural and artistic activities. The company was originated and developed in London in 1991. The branch in Taiwan is near MRT Shandao Temple Station and the Presidential Palace. It was formed by a group of seven people in 2010. The company’s shared value is to provide chances for disadvantaged group who is willing to work.

Project Description: This case study is to probe into the industry of “The Big Issue Taiwan.” We know by its name that the company sells magazines. However, the big difference from other companies is its marketing management. “The Big Issue Taiwan” offers the vagrant job opportunities to sell its magazines. First, they will be given 10 free magazines to sell to earn enough capital. Then, they can invest their earning on the wholesale of the magazine. Finally, they will become the boss of their own, instead of being salesmen for others. The company doesn’t just show sympathy for the vagrant, it will give substantial aid to those who endeavor to help themselves. “The Big Issue Taiwan” believes that they will make their own living by having a stable job. The company was introduced from England. The English name of this company is called TBI, short for “The Big Issue”. TBI was built by John Bird. Bird used to be a vagrant as well. After he made a success in his career, he thinks other drifters should be given the equal opportunities just like he did to twist his life around. Therefore, he founded the company.

“The Big Issue” is published in England, Japan and ten other countries right now. It was first introduced to Taiwan in 2009 by Mr. Qu-Zhong Lee, and formally published in 2010.

We hope all the researchers, readers and even other industries that happen to see this study are able to follow the example of social marketing management. With the support from all enterprises, our society can be more prosperous and bustling.
