Description of Our Community: Changhua County is located on the westside of Taiwan. It used to be the important traffic gate before Taichung City developed. It was originally named Poasoa, and later named Changhua as the meaning of Empery Manifestation in Ching Dynasty. Changhua City is the center of transportation and one of the best missionary places in Taiwan. There are temples and churches. Our community is on the block along ZhongZheng Road in Changhua City. Most of the residents are engaged in trade and industry.

Project Description: Our project is focus on the "History, present and prospect of the dough figures art". Dough figures making belongs to a long tradition of Chinese folk art. These were initially begun with the material of flour in the north of China and were later spread to the south with the material of the Chiang rice. Dough figures were originally carved rice sculptures in Taiwan. They are called dough figures because of the material they are made out of. Because dough figures are beautifully colored and editable. Children especially love them. In the culture of the development of dough figures in Taiwan, Changhua county plays an important part in the middle of Taiwan. We would like to awaken people's memory about the art of dough figure through our project and lure them to learn more about this unique traditional technic. Furthermore, we aim to promote the unique art to the whole wide world and keep it last forever.
