The convenience of public transportation and excellent educational environment so that many people of indigenous people come to Taipei to complete their dream of future. The combination of modern indigenous culture makes indigenous people’s culture to become one feature of Taiwan.

Project Description: The topic of this project arises from our Chinese textbook and school-based curriculum. This semester many parts of the content mention thing about culture of indigenous people. After reading things about indigenous people, students seem to be so interested in it. So we hope that thought this project, we could know more about history, culture, contribution, experience and tradition of indigenous people in Taiwan.

The Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines was established in 1994 as a specialist museum founded on the collection and display of artifacts of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples. It is dedicated to promoting mutual understanding between different ethnic groups, through careful research, preservation and explanation of the essence of Aboriginal cultures. The museum also has a special exhibition room where related exhibitions are held at regular intervals to broaden visitor’s field of concern, and to present the many faces of indigenous peoples’ culture.

The location of this museum is very close to our school. It’s just like our library of knowledge of indigenous people and we could look up for information anytime we need. We hope to make more people get to know more about this museum, so we go to collect data, visit the museum, interview people and experience by ourselves to achieve this goal. Furthermore we hope that we could decrease people’s bias and sstereotype of indigenous people in Taiwan and help them to earn more understanding and respect.
