Description of Our Community: Yunshan, Taipei, is home of various radio stations. Jiantan Elementary School is located at the east foot of Yunshan Mountains and the campus itself is a good scenic spot to look out the whole mountain area of Yunshan. In Yunshan, cable wires and radio stations are often spotted. Being students of Jiantan, we study local culture and history and would like to know more about broadcasting theories and production. Thus, led by curiosity, we crossed Zhungshan North Road and arrived Radio Taiwan International located on the west slope of Yuanshan. There, we conducted in-depth investigation of station history and broadcasting theories and understood the exchanges and interaction between a radio station and its audiences as well as the diversified contribution of Radio Taiwan International to the land on Taiwan.

Project Description: Radio Taiwan International (RTI) was established in 1928 by the ROC government and it was the first national radio station in Taiwan broadcasting to the world about news on Taiwan in 17 languages. Among its radio programs, children radio program, “When We Are Together” was last year’s winner of Golden Bell Awards and through this Cyberfair, we conducted in-depth investigation to let others know more about this program. In addition, we used what we learned to produce our own radio program at our school and experienced the fun of radio broadcasting.
