Description of Our Community: Lukang was ever the second largest town in Taiwan. The history of Lukang has been characterized by rapid change. In Ching dynasty, Dutch occupiers used Lukang as a major harbor for export and import products; Lukang was designated as the Taiwan seaport for shipping links with the Hanchiang harbor at Chuanchou on the coast of mainland China. So Lukang town become the gateway to central Taiwan. At that time, the port crowded with ships, streets crowded with shops, awning covering street they face, creating the famous "no sky" market area. Because the government and civil society efforts. Lukang still retains many traditional arts and traditional architecture. Project Description: "Lantern" is one of essential supplies of Chinese life. We can see the lantern in temples, streets, living room even in the bedroom.
