Description of Our Community: Tianjhong is located in the southeastern area of Changhua County and famous for its rice cultivation. The name “Tianjhong” is originated from rice. This town is situated at the center of a paddy field. Since it was surrounded by green paddy field, it was first named after “Tien-Chung-Yang” (which means the center of a paddy field), and the name was changed to Tianjhong during the Japanese Occupation. Most residents in Tianjhong before worked at farming, and farming is often influenced by the weather, so the support of religion plays an important part in their lives. This is also the reason why there are so many temples in Taiwan.

Project Description: Qian-De Temple is not only an important center of religious beliefs but also the spiritual shelter of most residents in Tianjhong. In recent years, Qian-De Temple has also taken part in the holy pilgrimage of Mazu Temples in Changhua County. Every time when an important festival comes, a number of believers will crowd into the temple. And the development of Tianjhong is closely related to Qian-De Temple. In order to know more about our hometown as well as to promote it, we attempt to design the website to introduce Qian-De Temple.
