Nei-Hu district has Xi-Zhi Town of Taipei county at its east, Ji-Long River at its south connecting Song-Shan and Nan-Gang districts. Its west side connects Zhong-Shan district, while its north connects Shi-Lin district, Da-Lun-Tou Mountain and Chi-Shang-Tian Mountain. Enclosed by the hills and waters, Nei-Hu owns the beautiful Bi Mountain and a peaceful environment. Its folk activities reflect the features of agricultural society, and there are plentiful rites and customs according to different seasons and holidays. For instance: (1)“Canon-base Attacking” and “Teasing TuDiGong.” in the night of Lantern Festival. (2)“Gong-Guan-Zhuang Arriving of the Kai-Zhang-Sheng-Wang in armor” On lunar calendar February 15th. Three other monuments recognized by the city government are: Rock-hitting space of Qing dynasty in Bei-Shi Lake, Nei-Hu Zhuang township conference room, the Guo family mansion (Nei-Hu Red-building). Project Description: Although Flitting-Needle Embroidery is originated from traditional Chinese embroidery, it is different from general embroidery work because it incorporates embroidery with the western painting techniques, and also the creativity of the artist. It is a work of art which integrates painting and embroidery, tradition and innovation.

The content of Flitting-Needle Embroidery is overarching; it is about how to present the variety of colors and the nimbleness of the interlacing threads – showing the creativity by embroidering a vigorous composition.

The techniques of Flitting-Needle Embroidery are rather unrestricted, highly depending on the feeling of the creator; nevertheless, there are still some skills that can be applied. All the techniques are developed naturally like sketching a painting, and certainly most of them are developed as the fusion of creativity and art.

Bottoming, Color-mixing, radian and dark/bright side measuring – there are many skills hidden in every detail, and each of them can increase the vitality of the whole painting.
