Description of Our Community: We entitled our project “The Revival of Taiwan Coffee “ based upon the event of 921 earthquake in Gu-keng. The environment of Gu-keng was ruined, the crop was damaged, and farmers’ incomes decreased rapidly. Meanwhile, the specialty of Gu-Keng – coffee revived, which had made a hit but being forgotten afterward. Under the management by a group of professional government officers and enthusiastic people from this locality, some coffee industries promoted the tourism trend in Gu-Keng, and brought back the product, that took the lead of new recreation industry. Our purpose is to discover which local business organizations and people who have been quietly offering their heart and effort on this land, and how they conquered the difficulties with their wisdom in the process of revival. Besides, we’d like to know what we students could do, and show the record on web pages to pass down this story.
