Description of Our Community: We live in a city that everyone focuses on technology and humanity. In Taipei, with fast pace of living, a group of people struggle with their difficulties with hearing, diligently face their work and life, and discover their own stage of life. What they need is not empathy, but more time and communication. They want more people to understand that behind the silence, what they actually want. If there are a group of people contribute their time to help them learn and develop, assisting them and taking care of them, they will become more confident to the future. This kind of story actually happened between you and me. So let the life experience become a learning tool; let us be touched by these stories.

Project Description: Usually people thought that the hearing-impaired cannot talk at all and the only way to communicate with them is using sign language. However, right now the education for the hearing-impaired become more important and many people held the idea that “there are no obstacles with love.” Therefore, to help the public to understand more about the hearing-impaired and to clarify the misinterpretation about this group of people, the government meticulously advocates “return of the mainstream education” that is, to enhance oral and hearing abilities for those who are hearing-impaired. Consequently, the hearing-impaired may be able to talk just like normal people.

The hearing-impaired need much more opportunity and assistance than normal people do during their learning experience. People generally did not know how to communicate with them, and often resulting in the misunderstanding. So they lost self-confidence and were fear of contact with the masses when interacting with the outside world. After interviewing with hearing-impaired people and their friends, we felt their enthusiasm and self-confidence. If we open our heart, we could tell that they are genuine and kind. We believed by giving them education and they would get out of silent world! Giving them stages, they will show a beautiful life.
