Description of Our Community: Yung-an Village used to be known as Luliao. It adjoins Juifeng, Juiyuan and Juilung Village across Luliao River to the north and east, neighbors Lungtien and Luyeh Village with hills to the south and borders upon Wuling and Yungkang Villages of Yenping Hsiang to the west. It officially became a village as a government unit in 1917 and was officially renamed Yung-an Village in 1948, suggesting eternal peacefulness and happiness. The villagers began growing tea in 1961. The villagers and immigrants gradually enjoyed prosperity with the tea crops. The land in the illage has been increasingly developed, gradually moving toward recreation, tourism and advanced agriculture.

Project Description: Yung-an Community Patrol Team, founded in January 2005, is the first community patrol team founded in Luyeh Hsiang, Taitung County. Mr. Tai Chun-fa is the first term captain. He has been long renowned for his exceptional enthusiasm toward the local community people. The Yung-an Community Patrol Team primarily shoulders the duties of safeguarding the local community people to assure zero dead space or blind spots and to create added comfort, benevolence and safety and security of the local community. The Yung-an Community Patrol Team operates through six corps, of which the 6th Corps is staffed by female community people, in charge of the internal affairs of the Command Center, instruction and guidance on community cleaning and security and any domestic violence. In addition, most significantly, there is a Junior Patrol Team organized by juveniles of the community. By joining the meaningful Junior Patrol Team, those enthusiastic juveniles fostered their love of their community to serve people while they are young.
