Description of Our Community: Kaohsiung, which was a port, used to be called Takao. But now it is definitely the second largest city in Taiwan. Located not far away from the largest port in Taiwan is CiZi Bay, known for its beautiful sunset, where there is not only beautiful scenery but also National Sun-Yet-San University, the place that cultivates lots of elites. The British Consulate, used to be a great assist to our diplomatic relationship with the British, has experienced some changes. It is now rated as the second historic site in Taiwan. Although the function it used to serve no longer exists, it becomes much more charming nowadays. With fast communication, bringing about intense cultural interaction, this is where foreign visitors must be. They come here for its rich cultural atmosphere and its delicate food. The British Consulate in Takao has grabbed people’s attention around the world.

Project Description: Take a look at the Cizi Bay, and you will see Kaohsiung International Port located just at its coast. There is a building—built in western-style, with dark read bricks and hundreds of years’ history, which is The British Consulate in Takao. In our following introduction, we will go back one hundred years to disclose how it used to appear in front of people, what the surroundings are like, and how the geographic setting features the building. In addition, we will also take a glance at how it is recently managed and what the building is expected to be in the future. Let’s take a sip of the coffee, while being bathed in the sunset and in the rich atmosphere as well!
