Description of Our Community: Lin-Sen North Road in Taipei is lined with shops of all kinds. With a department store, movie theaters, shops, restaurants and hotels around, local people and foreign tourists come into this area every day, bringing in money to shop owners. Among those dazzling shops are some quiet and elegant tea shops, one of which always attracts crowds of customers, Japanese tourists especially. This shop is our research subject, which has been running business for 23 years.

Project Description: What makes a traditional tea shop stands out from other counterparts in such a changing world, with so many kinds of bottled drinks we can find at any 7-11? What brings the crowd of customers into this particular shop constantly? And what makes those customers keep coming back? Our project is made to find out the key to this tea shop's success in business. As this shop is in the ownership of Ten Ren Tea Co., we look into the case not only from the store management itself, but also from the principle management policies directed by its 'mother' company, Ten Ren Tea Co. A series of interviews with the shop manager, staff and customers were conducted to find out how a small shop like this can achieve successful operation. Questionnaires were designed for an analysis of its customer group and their choice. Photos are given to present the business run in this shop and the merchandise sold in this shop.
