Description of Our Community: Local community:I-Lan was called "Ge Zai Nan" in Holland-occupied Era, and was called "Ge Ma Lan" in Ching-occupied Era. It was officially called "I-Lan" in 1875. It was mainly because JIu Chong tree was widely grown on the wall of ancient city at that time. I-Lan city was an important place of politics, economy, culture and education. Nowadays there are 40 villages, 542 neighborhood, 22 communities development associations in I-Lan. There are many kinds of delicious food in I-Lan, such as roasted duck meat, comfit, and Niu-Shi cake. Although I-Lan is not as prosperous as other places, you can still find its multiplicity. I-Lan is famous for its natural beauty and scenery. A writer called Zhu-Fang Wu wrote about “the eight sceneries in I-Lan”. National Tung-Wan Festival is also held in I-Lan every year and lots of people come here to participate in it..

Project Description: Jiyian-Hwu Hall is the family belief center of the Chen Family in I-Lan. It is cooperated with the Wild association and I-Lan Community University in recent years. The ecological pool of Jiyian-Hwu Hall is the research and collection locale of aquatic plants. It is also the secret garden of I-Lan citizens and make natural breath added to the humanity culture of Chinese Confucianism. Every I-Lan citizen has the chance to enjoy the space like this and experience the nature. In this way the concept of protecting nature is inhabited in the community residents. If we pay more attention to our surroundings, we will learn more. There are some historical monuments that haven’t been visited and comprehended. Let’s go discover the secret of these historical monuments together!
