Description of Our Community: Taiwan is a country surrounded by oceans. Oceans are the key to our national development and subsistence because we need trades and sea transportations to support the economy growth. And the naval defense is also the basic element of our national security. The things mentioned above all need ships and war crafts as tools. Furthermore, sea transportation is a symbol of global economy. A complete sea transportation policy should be considered as one of the essential policies in a country. Sea transportation supports Taiwan's exportation and trading. If a war happens, the exportation and trading will be interrupted, and the national security will be threatened. Therefore, the shipbuilding is the crucial part in a country's development and subsistence. It not only supports the sea transportation and trading which benefit the entire economic development and the livelihood, but also plays an essential role in constructing the national armaments which can maintain and enhance the national security. Hence, the establishment of “The China Shipbuilding Corporation" in Taiwan actually requires the basic functions of these goals: transportation, trade, national defense, and the development of the relevant industries...etc. The Kaohsiung’s factory of the “The China Shipbuilding Corporation" is situated in Siaogang district ( Kaoushing city), near to our junior school (Erling Junior School). In order to help people develop their understanding about “The China Shipbuilding Corporation", we selected a topic related to it, hoping to spread all this information to the whole world.
Project Description: Through the participation of the “Legendary Splendid Ships” activity held by the school, students can learn from the problems that they see in the procedure of making all sorts of different and fast speed ships. Through the trip held by “The China Shipbuilding Corporation" students can find an answer to all their questions by interviewing the enterprise organization “The China Shipbuilding Corporation" . They can report information related to “The China Shipbuilding Corporation" , by making their own specialized subject website and introduce important reports and the enterprise organization to the whole world. Students are then able to make their own research papers on the legends of ships. At the same time, it allows the students to learn from their questions found in the process of their learning, it encourage them to face any challenges with rigorous attitudes. It helps to cultivate the students’ essential ability.
