Description of Our Community: Lukang is the original location for the village community of Mazhilin. At the end of Ming Dynasty, the Hans began this immigrant to open up and cultivate this land, Lukang. They engaged in agro-farming and fishing. Among them, the people from Fujian Xinghua came here first. Then came the Hakka people from Quanzhou , ZhangZhou and Guangdong in succession. Lukang has become the main harbor of export- import trade of the goods in the middle part of Taiwan since opening the right to cross Lukang and Jiangkou in Quanzhou, Fujian formally in the 49th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1784). A large amount of immigrants from Quanzhou poured in Lukang. This caused more than 80% residents in Lukang are Quanzhou nationality. So it has the town of ' Quanzhou culture ' most to known as.

Project Description: The songs in Amoy colloquial are the people’s nourishment for the mind in vogue of the beginning of the Republic of China. At that time, every large cities and towns of commercial port that are developed early is influenced by the mainland immigrant. The songs in Amoy colloquial also traveled far away across the Taiwan Straits which is called “the black ditch.” The public houses for the performance of songs and dances all rely mainly on playing the songs in Amoy colloquial at that time. The songs in Amoy colloquial play the melody of the music gracefully and beautifully, softly and melodiously. They are the classic music while only rich people can practice the art.
