Description of Our Community: Formerly known as Sanchungpu, Sanchung City sits in the center of the Taipei basin. The basin came into being in the wake of a devastating earthquake which erupted in 1697 to such extent that caused the Lake Taipei to sink. Ages later, the basin gradually surfaced again from the bottom and a low and humid plain was formed after having taken alluvial deposits from the Tamsui River and its tributaries.

It is located 25°14'N. latitude and 121°30'e. longitude and covers a total area of 16.317 square kilometers.

Just as the old-day Sanchungpu was a place with a congregation of immigrants so it is still a place where people form central, middle and south Taiwan settle down today when they moved northward to earn their keep. Those people who earned their keep in distant towns more of ten than not find their peace in religion. Below is a brief introduction to the major temples of Sanchungpu.
