Description of Our Community: Taiwan is a small island at China's southeast. Toward north is Japan, and south is Philippine. It's an important place of economy and military affairs. Many countries has raced Taiwan since 17ths.It is just like a green dazzling jewel lying on the blue ocean and seems like swayed by the tidal water. It is a paradise of the world. Portuguese saw it and praised "Oh! Formosa!" Chunghua is an agricultural county in the middle Taiwan. There has an ancient town—Lukang, delicious meatballs, and beautiful Ba-Gua mountain. The railways of Chunghua are the most attention-getting distinguishing feature of the others. Because Chunghua is the intersection of mountain railways and ground railways, and Chunghua has the railways use to transport sugar—sugar railway. Compare with a busy city Taipei, Cunghua is just a simple place. It is very emotional that residents love to give a hand to each other. Chunghua does not have busy towns. But the paddy fields beside the roads, and farmers’ smile faces with sweat just like an emotional picture.
Project Description: Railroads play a crucial role in fostering a country, providing the importance and convenience for economics, for politics, for traffic transition...and so on. They are running from place to place like the blood vessels in our body carrying the nutrition to support our lives. That is why the railroads, being our topic, are our stand point to know our city ¨C Taiwan, Changhua, better first, to intimate our city, to re-construct and to give our city a promising future later. Speaking of the initial construction of Taiwan railroad -- the North-South Line, Chi-Chi Line, A-Li-Mt. Line, and many other lines for producing economic growth, it was completed by Japanese rule while Taiwan was fallen to be a colony. The Viceroy Office built the railroad system to be the "engine" of stimulating the development of Taiwan resources for revitalizing the social status. Chi-Chi Line was located in Changhua and the North-South Line is inevitable running though Changhua.
Furthermore, it comes naturally for Changhua to be the core of the railroad system not just because of being situated in the middle of Taiwan but because of being one of the areas of producing the economic crop, cane. We use the railroads to end up with a cash cow of production.
Thirdly, Changhua Train Station and Erh-Shui Stop are the vital points in Taiwan railroad. The Mountain Line and the Sea Line of the Main North-South Railway of Taiwan are converging here in Changhua Train Station and Erh-Shui Stop is the converging point of Chi-chi Line and the Main North-South Railway of Taiwan.
In addition, there is a top secret weapon, CTC, Central-Transit-Controlled System, working in Changhua Train Station.
Above all, we may get such a conclusion that Changhua railroads are an artery-like avenue to Taiwan. Not only are Changhua railroads able to serve Taiwan a manufacturing and economic base but Changhua Train Station is a affordable to supply the historic value with a fan-shaped garage, the unique train treasure all over the world.
