Description of Our Community: The place that we considered to be our local community is a place named Taichung. It is the city that we lives and is located in the central part of Taiwan. Taichung has very nice weather and is known as the “cultural city” of Taiwan. Famous sightseeing spots such as National Science Museum, National Art Museum, National Taichung Library, Civic Cultural Center, Chung-Shan Park, Sculpture Park, and Folks Park are all situated in Taichung. Large department stores including Shin- Kong Mitsukoshi, Chung-Yo , and Sogo make shopping very convenient for local people. In order to make Taichung a more classic, humanistic, and technological living place, Taichung city government has dedicated tremendous effort into developing its local characteristics.

Project Description: The main purpose of our CyberFair project is to introduce General Sun li-Zen’s legacies to the public. General Sun was one of the greatest generals in Chinese history. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute of U.S.A. in 1927 and was then joined the Chinese army. He fought and won several crucial battles against Japan during World War II. However, due to several of his subordinates were involved in some spying scandals, General Sun was placed under arrest and imprisoned in Taichung for nearly 33 years. In order to honor General Sun, the Taichung city government intended to build a memorial hall right at the place where he was imprisoned . As to us, we collect creditable resources from books, newspaper, films, and we even visited the place where he was imprisoned. By using these materials that we gathered, we intend to construct a web-site to introduce the glorious past and the legacies of General Sun to the general public and memorize the hero that has long been forgotten by most Taiwanese.
