Description of Our Community: Pingshi is surrounded by mountains. It was a farming village. Later on because of the coal mine, the railway, and roads, Pingshi developed into a place with a population of 30,000 people. In recent year, coal mining has been closed; however, the waterfalls, hiking, coalmining history and sky lantern still attracts tourists. The villagers are proud of their Pingshi railway. Here, we define our local community as the area around the Pingshi railway and the interaction between the place and villagers.

Project Description: Since the coalmines and railways lost the importance, Pingshi has gradually become less and less prosperous in our modern times. Pingshi now uses it resources to develop the tourism. We collect materials from many different sources, including the websites, the books, local government, and local people. It is expected that people can be able to seen the unique features of Pingshi through the works organized and presented in our project.
