Description of Our Community: Religious beliefs of Taoism are very common. And it is worshipped by the majority of the population in Taiwan. We can see the importance of the precious culture from the number and the ever wide spreading temples. This kind of culture provides the best community resource for cultural research.

Also we have ulterized the libraries in Yunlin Technology and Science University and Culture Bureau in Yunlin County . The temple Museum in Culture Bureau in Yunlin County exhibits many precious religious artifacts which is the best evidence of the Community¡|s emphasis on religious culture.

Project Description: ¡§The Jiajiang Festival troupe, Ba Jia Jiang, unique Taiwanese religious performance, which plays an important role in the Taiwanese Taoist folk festivals.

Such art combines facial painting, music and dancing in its performance. The performance not only attracts people by its gorgeous presentations, it also has educational value in Taiwanese traditional culture.

Recently, however this kind of art has been less and less appreciated. Many of Ba Jia Jiang performers are delinquent teenagers which create a negative connotation with the public. What we are doing here is trying to correct such a bias.

On our website, we not only introduce the public to the Ba Jia Jiang¡|s traditional culture; we also list many creative art works by some artists and some well disciplined performing groups. We hope to help it to gain the recognition it deserves. More importantly, we hope to revive it¡|s social education function as well.
