Description of Our Community: Taiwan used to be ruled by Europeans. It is a pity to say that dancing of local style wasn¡¦t rooted in this land. There is no so-called professionalism about dancing. The situation didn¡¦t change until Japan took over Taiwan from the Ching dynasty to 1945. More and more students learned western abut dancing abroad and brought the new skills back to Taiwan. Among them is Tsai-O Lee. She has devoted all her life in promoting education of dancing since she came back from Japan .

Project Description: Why do we form this project ? First, she was the first one who went to Japan to learn about dancing. Second, she brought back the western dancing skills. Third, she gave the women in Taiwan who were under very conservative circumstances a brand new way of thinking and provide them an outlet to develop themselves. Tsai-O Lee is a landmark in the dancing history of Taiwan. We believe that this project is of great significance to our society community.
