Full Project Description:
This global learning project is for the purpose of connecting with other Geometry classrooms to learn to more effectively solve proofs. Teachers and students can participate in any of these ways:
Level One -- Parallel Proofs Teachers will ask their classes to solve the current Parallel Proof, which will be posted in the website. When the class proof is complete, teachers will upload it to the website.
Level Two -- Collaborative Proofs In this level, teachers will have classes take part in the current Collaborative Proof. Classes will submit the first step of the proof, and teachers will post this step. Another class will build off this first step, adding just one more step to be posted by the teacher. The proof will continue until it is complete. All participating schools will be able to watch the progress as the proof develops.
Discussion Page Teachers will have the opportunity to post comments from their classes. Students will be encouraged to make observations about other classes' proofs and/or steps. Classes may even want to critique their own submissions.
Objectives:
Students will learn to more effectively write Geometric proofs. Students will learn to evaluate proofs written by themselves and others. Students will interact with others from around the country and around the world, enlarging their own view of the world.
