Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The studio named “iron man” was established in 2005. They are engaging in making public art, decorative arts, furnitures, signboards, gifts, accessories and trophy cups. The address is Qingshui St., Sanxia Dist., New Taipei City, Taiwan. The signboard hanging on the doorway was made by iron, displaying the identity of the local specialty stores. The spacious workplace is his heaven of all kinds of composing.

2. Summary of Our Project

Chang-Yao Chaing who was born in Sansia has liked to go to his father’s ironwork factory since he was a child. Therefore, he is familiar with this kind of environment and the material of the iron. Although a fever in his childhood damaged part of his hearing, but God never closes a door without opening a window. His creative talent makes up for the shortage of expressive speeches. Because of his creative and outstanding composes in metal, he is finally carving out a way of his own. His wife, Tzu-Wen Hsueh, engages in glass art. The reason they met is because they have the same thing to learn. They create art works together, and walk with their arms linked in their life. Chang-Yao Chaing’s art works are based on the nature. Starting from the series of common sparrows, and successively joined the series of cats, dogs, owls, fish, bats and even penguins. The material he used were from the things they are seem useless in their daily life. The fun combinations bring a slight of childhood memories.
