4. Problems We Had To Overcome

*Time: we are Grade 9 junior high school students. Our everyday lives are filled with tests and studying, tests and studying. We used the afternoon break, and afterwards the teacher helped to make use of social groups and computer classes, which gave us a little more time. As for interviews, we of course used time after class, on the weekend kend during holidays, we believe that hardship of this sort definitely has its value!

*Interview times: During the production process, we encountered many difficulties, because members of the A Chung group were so busy, and held meetings constantly.. Occasionally, it was very difficult to allocate times for us. From this we began to understand that this was probably a part of the hardship and difficulty that they had endured in achieving success. We also studied, and prepared well so that we could achieve the best results with the time we used. If we hadn’t prepared properly, it would have been very easy to waste time. *Information storage: All of the production was performed in the school computer room, but sometimes there would be a class on, so we would have to employ other means. From the beginning, the information we produced was sometimes saved in the computer room , sometimes sent by e-mail accounts, and other times saved on floppy disks. This was neither unified nor convenient. Thankfully, our teacher later on came up with the idea for us to apply for a web group, to act as a contact and information storage location, and through the internet, whether at home or at school, we would be able to access this area to save or retrieve information. We felt that this was far more convenient, and meant that we were no longer limited by location. When a number of people were working together, making use of this type of arrangement was extremely helpful.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

1. A better sense of traditional art.

2. Learnt and now understand more about innovation.

3. Learnt how people cooperate

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

something deserve metion is Cooperation Learning: This special-theme project enabled us to study many techniques for group cooperation. First of all, we arranged the pace of progress together, produced progress forms, and in addition to this, we were assessed based on our work performance, by both our teachers and each other. On our web forum there was a voting area, and we used this voting area to display our assessment marks. In addition this, a shared web forum was an excellent means for helping us to coordinate people who had different schedules and lived in different areas. Conversations that could not be carried out in person could be conducted over the internet. With regard to techniques for dealing with each other, because there were periods of time at our school when students were not permitted to access the internet, this influenced our rate of progress, and made everyone very nervous. This also created conflict between group members. But we took this and transformed it into a valuable experience, enabling everyonee to consider how we should communicate when time came for cooperation with others. When speaking ot doing things, we had to give greater consideration to the impressions of others, and only then would we be able to achieve the true goal of communication, and not disrupt amicable relations

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

First of all we found A Chung glove puppet theaters website, and contacted the number provided. After obtaining contact with A Chungs manager, Ms. Pu, she told us that on Sunday, at the Children’s Education and Amusement Center on Chung Hsiao East Road, Section 5, there would be a live performance, and welcomed us to attend and conduct an interview. This was an activity arranged by a church society. The event that day was extremely lively, and we experienced first hand the enchantment of A Chung puppet theater. Because this was the first time that we’d been to see a performance, we originally wanted to take classmates with a DV and a camera. But because of circumstances, we could only take a few photos, and when we performed the interview that today, there was another group of university students, and also television people, who had come to interview A Chung (you can see how popular is he). So, we hoped that we would have another occasion to conduct a fuller interview, and also record the event. Finally, a time was set for a second interview. After their appointment at the television station was finished, because we had just arrived at the television station ourselves, we performed our second interview in the television station cafeteria. The goals for our second interview were much clearer, because previously, our teacher had enabled us to perform an analysis of the information, so we would better understand the direction we wanted to pursue with our interview. We are extremely grateful to the staff from the A Chung Glove Puppet Theater, for taking the time out to be interviewed and helping us shoot the video, even though they were extremely busy. In addition to this, we would also like to thank Mr Zhi Gong, for the opportunity to watch the outside performance, and for serving as a source of information. We only had these sources of information. Thank you all
