At a very basic level, there are two sources of information on the Internet: the millions people who use the Internet, and the files that are stored on the millions of computers on the Internet -- Human Resources and Digital Resources. What is important about this classification of Internet information is that the techniques and tools for finding information from these two sources is different. E-mail and online discussions (among others) are the tools for accessing information from people. The web browser (Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) is the most frequently used tool for finding digital resources. |
