Christmas ABC's Writing Prompt

Project Summary
The Christmas Alphabets Project originated at East Arcadia School, Bladen County Schools, Riegelwood, NC. The example was created by a student in Eva Lightner's sixth grade class. Students from Jefferson Junior High, in Oceanside, California participated in the writing exchange.

Writing Prompt

Think of a holiday word or phrase for each letter of the alphabet. (Write out the complete sentences as in the sample)

C is for the holiday CHRISTMAS.

D is for the DINNER we eat.

E is for EXCITEMENT of children.

H is for the HOLLY we have on our wreaths.

I is for the ICE some people skate on.

J is when we sing the song "JINGLE BELLS".

K is for KRIS KRINGLE who brings gifts to people.

M is for the MANGER that Jesus was in.

N is for the NAUGHTY children that don't get presents.

R is for Santa's REINDEER that help him get to places.

S is for SANTA who brings gifts to everyone around the world.

T is for the Christmas TREES lit with plenty of lights.

U is for the UNUSUAL gifts we receive.

V is for VERY pretty Christmas trees.

W is for the WREATHS we put on our doors.

X is for XMAS, the symbol for Christmas.
