Project Description: Our theme aims to introduce the indigo dye workshop next to the Sanxia Historical and Cultural Museum on the New Taipei City. There have been numerous people probably forgetting the traditional art of “indigo dye”. However, the beauty of “indigo dye” deeply attracts us - the students majoring in multiple media design. Indigo dye is not only the traditional skill native to Sanxia, but also symbolizes its domestically cultural aesthetics. To make this art pervade eternally and globally is exactly our mission as the young generation. This theme is titled “Silent Visual Feast - Sanxia Indigo Dye”We actually visit the indigo dye workshop and make our own workshop of indigo dye. Through this research, we sincerely hope our academic theories of aesthetics can allow more people to enjoy the beauty of the indigo dye art. In this theme, we establish a website to introduce the art of indigo dye art at Sanxia. Also, through the creativity of everyone, we create some planar designs dedicated to the indigo dye workshop. Hopefully, people can be attracted by the unique beauty of indigo dye art to fulfill the purpose of culture and art heritage. The development and evolution of the indigo dye workshop at Sanxia, along with its insistence and innovation to the indigo dye art, can substantially demonstrate the Taiwan spirit. Therefore, we hope through our theme research, people can profoundly understand the contextual meaning of the indigo dye art and experience the insistence and innovation on traditional art skill devoted by the indigo dye art. It can infuse the authentic traditional skills into the daily life locally and also prosperously pervade globally.
