D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:4-6

E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):

We don't have problems with intenet connections.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The two main problems we had to face during our project were the sources of information to finish the project and the technical obstacles. Because we didn't live during this period so we don't know anything about this period and how to describe this period clearly. In addition, we haven't designed any website before so we had to delay for 4 days to figure out how to design the layout of our website. During our project, the information team had to phone and send emails to some people asking them for permissions to have interviews with them to collect information. The technology team had to went to some IT academy to learn techniques and improve their designing skills.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Learning by doing

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our project is assigned to simple mission to bring knowledge and information about Vietnam’s economy and the effecting of diplomacy to it. All data in our project is absolutely correct so our project supported students who were interested in history and especially Vietnam’s history and wanted to know more. Also some required coursework about diplomacy or economy of Vietnam in our school needed our project as a source of information and documents to finish them.

- Computers: We used them to create our website, research information, communication… - Software & sites: + Adobe Photoshop CS5: to edit images. + Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.1: to design and program our website. + Skype: to contact with our teachers and team members. + Microsoft Word: to collect and store documents. + GlobalSCAPE CuteFTP 8 Professional: to upload our website. + Sony Vegas Pro 10: to edit video + http://www.000webhost.com/ : to store our website. + http://freecocc.com/ : register hosting. - Camera: to take pictures and capture video. - Source of Videos: http://www.youtube.com

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.

During the process of making our Doors to Diplomacy project, we usually had some offline meetings with our team members and teachers to discuss about our project. The meeting was hold in our school club so we put on a sign: “Doors to Diplomacy project” to get attention from other students. If they stop by and curious about our project, we will describe it shortly and quickly for them and then give them information sheets for more details. Besides publishing our website on Internet, we also promoted it by our Facebook accounts so acquaintances can take a preview look at it and comment to upgrade our website.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We presented our project in our school to show other students what we were doing and asked them for advises. Other students helped us out a lot without a single complaint. For people outside our school, we posted the link on our Facebook accounts so they can in that way find our webpage and the information on it. Hopefully they will open their mind for the topic and get interested in this topic.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Through our project, the people in our school gained knowledge about Vietnam’s economy. They volunteered to help us to find, collect and arrange documents. Some students even introduced us to their grandparents so we could interview them for information. When our website was online, they previewed it and gave us comments to improve the website.
