1. Description of Our Team
Our idea of participating in this contest was born with the introduction of the standards and objectives of the competition by our mentor, IT professor Sofia Tosheva. She presented us a very solid and detailed information about this project. The first one that was informed about the project felt deep interest and connection with diplomacy is an 18-year-old high school student Martin Timov. He introduced this idea to three classmates who are also students at the high school, 'Jane Sandanski'. These students were Verica Vulanovikj, Mirjana Tosheva and Gorgi Georgiev. Together they developed the idea, reviewed the various inspirational topics contained in this comprehensive organization and extensive project. Seeking advice from other people, it was concluded that over a certain topic we should capture the essence of the Balkans and close this topic up worldwide.
2. Summary of Our Project
The Balkan is a specific region in terms of historical problems. It is a sociological milestone, interwoven network of conflicting views, complex and controversial stories of the various spheres of national dilemmas and active centers of political and strategic interests. Over the years, the Balkan passes through various stages not only on the political and sociological level, but also on a variety of topics covering the most critical details, which are cultural and social characteristics of the people. The man is everywhere the same - experiencing falls and lifts which reflect its comprehensive phenomenon. He is the reason for any kind of intellectual development – from the political, through polite, until sociological expression. As mutated man the man from the Balkan on every level of his reach, will develop further in our presentation.

-Till 2010 the only classroom that was equipped with computers and internet access was the IT classroom with 20 computers. Nowdays as the government project “Computer for every student” was implemented, our school has nearly 120 host computers and 580 thin clients. Each host computer is divided to be used by 5 thin clients via Ethernet network.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Incorporating and Combining our Ideas Due to the composition of the team we had for making this project, we managed to make a symbiosis of our ideas and we translated all of our knowledge into a form through which we can influence the world and present our vision of how we imagine the past. In a cosmopolitan way, we managed to give a democratic representation of all cultural and social welfare interests of man. It is the result of the different ideas emanating from us. We have created a balance of all our creativity and presentation.
B) Time Management As each project this one too requires total dedication and commitment. First, we had a problem finding room for collective operations. But thanks to the understanding of the principal of our school, we provided a room where we had access to wireless-connection and we were free to concentrate on making our project. We also had a problem choosing a topic on which we will write and explore, but thanks to Professor Marjan unanimously decided to dedicate human anthropological side, covering education as a sub-topic of our research. Thus, we can coordinate for our efforts to result with positive characteristics.
C) Problems on our way This project requires previous experience including skills from different areas. Our team consists of four high school students with different profiles and therefore was not easy to coordinate with time. We prepared for four years in the field of informatics and gathered information from all areas. We can not precisely define how long it took us to complete this project, because to be competent to work on such a project, time is nothing, only dimension, which is unclear.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
The profile of men, which is composed of many features has always been a topic of interest. We, capturing only one peninsula (Balkan) of many gave a clear idea how we live, a little bit differently. It is a sufficient provocation for influence not only closer to our environment, but also beyond.
6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
Our project deals with research on the specifics of the Balkan Peninsula, especially within education. For that we had to come into contact with very rich history of the Balkans, to view different identities, to mix together different concepts like religion, ethnicities and educational profiles in individual areas of this region. We think this is an original theme and as such, aims to give an insight into the general situation and show what is actually done and how it is evaluated in this region. This topic that we have chosen has a great specificity and as a whole doesn’t have a tremendous relationship with all the goals required by the category Peace and Democracy, but has a great affinity to reach a global level showing social problems. We developed the historical themes and the impact of historical events on the present through different perspectives which even helped us to comprehend the region we live in. We had great help from mentors and teachers from our school that have explained us the way of displaying the purpose of our topic. Through the study of computer science we had the knowledge and ability to build and refine the project to create a creative website and a lot of multimedia with many links. In support of writing and finding materials of great help to us was history, and other social subjects. Overall, this project reflects our commitment and our extensive knowledge of school subjects, and that helped us to refine them.
