Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

Our team consists of 4 members their names are : Esraa , Asmaa , Sara and Huda. We have the same age which is (16 years old). We are close friends so it was easier for us to work together in one group as we have close mentality and temperament .on this basis the team has been established. our topic is : Sectarian strife in Egypt and the role of rumors . We have chosen Sara as our programmer master because of her experience in computer skills , Asmaa who is a good information collector because of her swiftness in using internet , Esraa who has enthusiastic personality she encourages us and throws zeal in our hearts to win , Huda who joined the team recently we admit her because of her seriousness and concentration during the work . Fortunately, all members of our group are Egyptian So, we have deep history and knowledge of our diplomacy , Firstly Esraa will search for the reasons of this problem , then Sara will explain models of national unity , then Asmaa will give examples which show the Sectarian strife in Egypt , After that Huda and Esraa will try to put some solutions which fight this strife Our coaches are : Mr. Mohamed Elnagar and Mr. Tarek Mostafa they Helped us to complete our project . Eventually, We hope to finish our diplomacy as fast as possible in perfect performance.

2. Summary of Our Project

Our topic is 'The sectarian strife and Rumors'. the aim of our topic is knowing the most important causes of sectarian strife and finding diplomatic solutions enable us to root out this problem from Its assets .also We want to tell people that Muslims and Christians in Egypt have lived over centuries together with close ties , so we show the models of national unity that prove coexistence of Muslims and Christians together standing side by side in good and bad times , then we explain that recently appeared dissension which led to ignite the fire of sedition between the two communities , rumors and irresponsible media which promote it were the main reasons stand behind this problem , finally we try to put out any similar strife by showing the diplomatic solutions which resolve conflicts between people , these solutions involve each element in the society, from the youngest man to the top official , this is the least duty on each individual wish the progress and peace for his country .

The lack of net at three members , so we connected net through the USB but it was slow and need charging repeatedly

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We could not write in Arabic on the site which we designed because this site don't allow writing in Arabic so we became obligated to put verses of Quran in its English translation .

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Our topic direct to the risk of the word one word is capable to cause conflicts , ignite the flames of discord and destroy one country completely ,we should not be dragged behind any rumor .

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We studied in the school and in houses of worship (Masged &Church) how can we face rumors in our life & we used this culture in our project . We divided the work between us to 4 parts according to our capabilities & skills . this helped us to take advantage of individual skills and complete quickly . Diplomacy learned us that we should be unbiased in dealing with these problems and let emotions and affections aside to give just decision . we found that a lot of local problems have regional and international echo and vice versa .

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your Doors to Diplomacy project?

We diversified our Sources of information , We used five means of trustworthy information origin to collect the largest amount of valuable information : 1- We have heard what talked about that problem on television and took what supports our project . 2- We also collected information from books and newspapers . 3- We made several phone calls with several people to take from them what explains our topic and makes it more transparent . 4- the most helpful means to us were Computer and Internet because they are user friendly and their speed were more than any other means so they helped us to gather a lot of information in a short time . 5- the most valuable means for us were videos which reflect the credibility of our topic .

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.

We are proud of our project . We have acted as ambassadors by inviting all our friends to visit our website and make comments about their impression towards our site and describe their involvement in the community. We make them also free to invite their own friends to visit our site. Our website is very user friendly and brings a warm welcome to visitors. All of the members in our group are Egyptians , so we were harmonious with our topic. This advantage helped us to know more background about our project . Also, we did a lot of researches to get more information.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

we think that our project may contribute a great deal in solving this crisis which is one of the toughest crises face our country We try by our project to relink Between Muslims and Christians after these rumors which tend to destroy the nation-building . we think that our role in educating people would be remarkable through making them aware to the dangerous of rumors so not be drawn behind them before verifying their sources . It also teaches people around the world that we should deal with problems by looking for the most important causes and create solutions include everyone whatever his status in the society to erase this strife . we believed that rumors Among the most dangerous Moral war and the most destructive weapons . How many Countries destroyed ? and How many relationships broken by similar rumors ?

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

there are many persons who helped us and left a mark in our project by there guidance & encouragement from them: (1) miss Heba Abd Elhafeez who was good assistant for us where she is journalist so she gave us reliable information which she watched with her eyes or discussed with social experiment and responsible authorities. (2) Miss Amira Hassan who helped us by her language experience in English. (3)Esraa's brother Dr Alaa Edeen follow us step by step with his valuable comments and reveal to us many ideas .

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

This project provided us a great experience because it opened our minds to Diplomacy . At first , we acquired an idea of what Diplomacy is , and after the investigation we could appreciate that Diplomacy is the best bridge between world civilized countries . During the work on ouR project we have gained new skills which will help us in preparing another projects in the future. We have learned how can search and collect information . Before we were doing small class researches , but this time we have made enormous research which based on very huge materials. Designing a website for the first time allowed us to learn new skills in terms of communication, production, and research .
