Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

Harry: Harry, a 16 years old CBC(Chinese born Canadian),his grandparents are from China.He has been live in Canada for several years,during these years all of his teachers told him not to smoke and don’t pollute the earth,protect the environment,that is the reason why he loves the environment that much.He hates the people who destroy the environment.He is a guy who likes playing a lot of sports such as volleyball,basketball,badminton.He plays the Alto Sax in band .For now he can only speak 3 languages mandarin, Shanghaiese and english but someday in SCIS he will be able to learn French. Allen: Allen is a 15 year old Chinese boy who lived China for 12years. Who lived in Africa for 2 years. Whose whole family is living in China and his parents are working in Africa. He likes fishing and reading. He wants to be an engineer or doctor in the future. Who can speak 2 and half languages, which are Mandarine and English, and a little bit of French. And he has a little sister who is only 2 year old. Han: Han, a 14 years old boy from Taiwan. He was born in China, and he still lives in China right now. He’ve never lived in any other countries before, but he has been to 32 different countries. He can speak Chinese and English fluently and a little bit of Spanish and Japanese. He loves playing video games, specially League of Legends, also called LOL. He also love American football, he thinks it is really fun. He also have a half sister which is only three years old. He is happy most of the time, but if he get mad, he could be really scary.

2. Summary of Our Project

It is about pollution.

Facebook, Youtube, etc are banned in China, unless use a vpn.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The group has some problem with the topic, but finally chosen pollution, and sometimes we didn't have time to work on this, had a lot of other assignments to complete.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

It is about pollution, the lung cancer.

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We learned how to group work better, we complained about the topic but finally agreed with pollution. We understood more on pollution than before through the research, we discovered that we are a tiny role in the school community, i think the traditional learning ways are more effective than internet, because i feel better to read on a book and write with a pen.

Yes it would be different if we have more time to work on it

except for group members, Harry, Allen, Han, we got helpers Ms.Brill, our english teacher, and the british accenter technology guy.
