Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

Patrick who is 13, Ian who is 13, Catherine who is 13, and Andrea who is 14 all worked on Arts and Culture, and we all did one page on what we liked about 2011. We talked about all the new, interesting things that happened in Austin, Texas in 2011. 2011 was a very interesting year because many people have done many fun things like in pictures and music. We need to give thanks to our teacher Mrs. Pesqueda. She showed us how to use fantastic places in to find and put our information.

2. Summary of Our Project

Our project was to show other people what Austin looked like in 2011. We looked at unique arts, and life stiles. The arts in Austin Texas is very different than other states, and we wanted to show everyone about the different art and culture in Austin. Austin has multiple cultures, this is one reason why Austin has a large population because they have many different life styles.

The obstacles that we have overcome since the beginning of the, have been multiple computer problems, that include the Internet not working to them running out of battery. Many more computer problems have came up in our working time, but we overcame them by working hard, and working at our houses. We also have put in a lot of time in class despite the distractions that we have in the classroom from other groups and such. But we feel that we have done a good job on our project overall. - Ian Tellechea

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We have all learned multiple new things that have happened in the world in the past year. And have grown in our knowledge of the world and current events. - Ian Tellechea.

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our research and activities for this Doors to Diplomacy project support content standards, required coursework, and curriculum requirements by helping us be prepared for the trials and tribulations of our project over Arts and Culture in 2011. We have had to do tons research over the arts and culture and it has helped me appreciate how encouraged this subject is. The required coursework gets sometimes tedious but I know it is meant to help improve our project and quality of work. We all have enjoyed this project immensely. All of these factors have supported our project and made it a lot better whether in the website or our work ethic.
