Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

We are 'Handshake' team from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Our team consists of 4 friendly, original, creative students. Our teacher Aygul is directing us since our team has been created. To use our time with profit, we shared our duties for each of us. Bekbolot is responsible of managing our website, and also by loading information, photos, videos etc. He is one of the active persons of our team. Jamila is the most curious person of our team is helping Bekbolot with design for our website. Our gentile girl, Yrys, is collecting the data and information from resources and museums of our town. Aisuluu is responsible for pictures, videos and all multimedia of our website. Every participant of the team is very active and leader by themselves. Every of us have an experience in several projects to make available our history for everybody.

2. Summary of Our Project

To make available our history, people who made our history, people who connected our country with the world. The aim of our project is to show, to tell all over the world about persons who made relations with other countries for our country. Facts, happens which was in lives of every of our historical person. Remind youth about past. That’s why the innovative, creative, interesting way to do it is creating the website where people can get information about the historical person of Kyrgyz history, to discuss about them, to make forums about that person they want to. People from all over the world can get information, to know the activities of our diplomats. This information can help everybody to make future. Knowing the history, we'll not repeat mistakes of the past, we'll make our history much better.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Our students are the graduates of our school. They have to enter to institute or university. Of course they are preparing to exams, tests and others. They have activities besides school. And the first barrier was the brevity of the time. We had meetings at school, and in one of them we divided our work and time. So there was overcome on of the barriers. Second problem that we have was technical nature. But we appealed to specialist and this problem was solved. Any problem that we have we were solving together. At any time team should be strong and wise. I hope we were so.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

History makes future. Everybody have to know history. Because only in history you can see 'pluses' and 'minuses' of wars, understand the politics of each government. There were mistakes, there were goals. History teachs us how should we make our future. History of foreign relations is a crib in our life.

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your Doors to Diplomacy project?

We used computers and laptops with Internet were the most useful tools. Because we made our website, uploaded pictures, reports, videos. Of course Internet access helped in searching information and media files. Also we used cameras, mobile phones.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.

After we created our team, we started planning the content of our website. And we decided that our historical persons would be best solution. But we didn't stopped. Also we added there history of our diplomacy, and news about Kyrgyzstan's relations. Our students wanted make this project intersting. They went to the Ministry of foreign affairs to get some information. They visited historical museums and do allthing to be good informed to spread it all over the world.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

This project explained our students how hisory is important. And it showed what means friendly team. We hope that our project will make differences in the small quantities. Our community will recpect us and our school, because we spread good moto, because teach others to respect every culture and every history. We recieved good feedbacks from other people.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

It was heavy work for 4 students. So we had volunteers who wanted help us. They gave us advice, pictures, information. One of them gave her own camera when ours had broken. People around us started teach us what history means for everyone. They began tell stories and events they faced in their life, and where diplomatic conversation helped them. Great thanks to all people who helped us.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
