Description of Our Community: Datong River is the mother river of our Honggu people, for thousands of years, Datong riverraised tens of thousands of Honggu people, in recent years, with the development of the local economy, the pollution of Datong River is divided into two points: the first one is the pollution of industrial enterprises, such as Xingyuan ferroalloy plant discharged into sewage; Lianchengaluminum plant sewage into the river directly. Secondly, the garbage which is produced by the people near Datong river, such as plastic products, rotten goods led water pollution seriously.And someone are quarrying and dredging on the bank. Many years ago, Datong River was clear,there were various fishes, residents drinking water had no smell, however in recent years, water pollution is serious, the water is more and more turbid, the kinds of the fishes are less and less,residents drinking water also has bad smell even though it is boiling, because the water pollution is very serious, tap water plant has to add more chlorinating agent, bleaching agent in the process of water purification. Residents living in the river have to extract groundwater.
Project Description: While Hydropower development solves the problem of water resource and the shortage ofelectric, it also brought some negative effects to the ecological environment of the reservoir area and the lower reaches. These effects are mainly embodied in: (1) the deterioration of the ecological environment around the construction project; (2) the reservoir caused ecological change in reservoir area; (3) Hydropower Stations change the habitat characteristics of thesection with shortage of water under the dam; (4) the water and sandy changes of the river destroyed the downstream and the balance of water salt and water sandy. In the process of making website, we knew more about it, we hope more people can pay attention to environmental problems in Datong River through our wensite.
