4. Problems We Had To Overcome

For this contest, we met some difficulties. First, arrange the visit. How to complete the interview and collect all the necessary information for our study within a very limited period as well as to give a good impression to Ciaotou sugar factory. We not only divided into several small groups to prepare the appropriate questions for the interview, but also rehearsed the situation that would likely to happen during the interview. We also ask for help from teacher to make the photographs and videos, and record the complete process of this activity.Second difficult we met is we have a lot of information about Ciaotou, but we felt that is not good enough to touch someone’s heart, so we set out to interview local people, let us had more story about surgar factory and it’s history.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In this period of time, we realized that have good teamwork is the very important thing. When we met any problem, we could find the answer together. CyberFair really lets us more close and let more people know our country and beautiful campus. I think this is very meaningful.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

The production of CyberFair can learn a lot of things that are not normally learned in class, such as the distribution of work, make use of time, etc., we also learned that the work is not an easy thing. Subject research is a different learning way from the regularization teaching of school. Because each person maybe gets the different harvest, it all depend on how you effort for. Through the research, we had more experienced than others. And about the production of web pages, data collection, data typesetting, team cooperation also has a practical application. These are all kinds of personal experience is necessary to pay effort, so get something is very valuable.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

For the technologies about website design, we learned how to use PhotoImpact, Adobe MUSE cc, FileZilla and other softwares. For the information we tried to obtained, we surfed online and read lots of book in the library. We also arranged some interviews with Mr.Cheng at Zuoying in Kaohsiung, some abbots in temples and local people in the Tourist Service Center and some stores. We even had a small talk with some visitors when taking photos here. As to photography, our teacher taught us how to take photos well and how to use computer tools to make our photos look better.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

1.Some enthusiastic locals were willing to be our guides and led us to somewhere we were planning to go. 2. Some older local people told us about historical spots here. We, therefore, obtained information unexpectedly. 3. Some people were eager to provide relevant information and told us stories about scenic spots. 4.Some local residents even came along with us to visit some places, which made our visits go smoothly. 5. In addition to factory director Lee, we couldn’t complete this job without many local people who we didn’t know their complete names. They were like our neighbors and friends. Thank you so much.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We have integrated the local historical information and history in the website. Through interviews with local people, Influence each other. When they knew that we are doing this project. They’re happy to help us know more about Ciaotou. Introduced us some valuable historical background. In our website, you can find many delicious food information about Ciaotou. So we also put this useful information on our facebook and tell our friends. We found some people showed their interest to our website and became our friends on Facebook. Some people even left some good feedback or suggestion to us. We share our opinion very happy.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Some students in our group have relatives live in Ciaotou. So they can ask them to get more useful information. When some vendors know we are introduce their history or culture to visitors and foreign. They agree with our interview without hesitation. We really appreciate their help.
