1. Description of Our Community
Our school is located in Honggu district, a remote Administrative Region under the jurisdiction of Lanzhou city. Local government pays less attention to the importance of protecting the environment in order to boost economic growth. The mountains of trash that pile up, air pollution and water pollution have yet to be fundamentally resolved. People's basic living environment gets overlooked. Local ordinary people have low attainments in knowledge, they smoke in public and leaving butts everywhere, don't observe traffic regulations. There are no plans on city construction.
2. Summary of Our Project
Building national civilized city is an important task of Lanzhou City government, it is the most important disposition and decision that local government makes, it becomes an important engine to promote the ecological change of city's both economically and socially, it also is a dream of Lanzhou people. In recent years, everyone of the whole city unite as one wall, one heart, one people to work hard, all kinds of work in city construction and management go up to a new stage, which has laid a solid foundation for building national civilized city.
We can see that, in the feature section 'summary on citizen participating civilized city construction ', citizen's commitment and strong expectation to build civilized city. It is a focus of our project study, and also a bright spot. Students, teachers and parents have joined in. The processes from publicizing at school, guide in class meeting to parents petitions activity, let us understand that all residents act in building civilized city.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
1)Classes is quite high, there is no time for students to carry out activity. In such cases, we made most use of activities recess to weed and plough in garden. We act as volunteer labors to help old person across the zebra crossing, lead to people go through the road. In a word, we do our best to involve in the activity of building national civilized city.
2)We plagued with numerous problems concerning safety. Education department have the duty of ensuring the safety of the students. We are well organized to work disciplined under the leadership of teacher.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Although our website looks simple, the procedure of project research is very difficult. We personally involved in activities of building civilized city. We believe that no pains, no gains. The title of “National Civilized City” as a whole civilization level comprehensive honorary title, we wish to get it. This is a big project, a city movement that needs the participation of every Lanzhou citizen.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
The new curriculum clearly pointed out that high school students must participate in social practice, it is 6 points, take this opportunity, we launched our research activities. Not only completed the social practice but also completed the web works, it really kills two birds with one stone.
During the study, we obtained knowledge from many sources besides books, we learned about the requirement of civilized city. Our experiences made us love our homeland more, have a belief of building civilized city. We must do it, because we need harmonious and beautiful homeland.
