Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The purpose of this community is to promote community development, enhance the welfare of the residents, establish a peaceful, harmonious, solidarity and mutual help modern society. At present, the team has an environmental volunteer team, watch team, earthen dance, bio-energy medical qigong, children's reading class, Community care care base, calligraphy class.

2. Summary of Our Project

We chose Wende Temple as the topic since the history is long-standing. During the festivals of Wende Temple, there are street vendors and the atmosphere is lively. In recent years, people tend to neglect the tradition, and thus the temples successively decline and people who are knowledgeable about the history reduce. Therefore, in order to introduce the long history of temples in Taiwan to the world, we intend to promote them to more people by Cyberfair.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Although I encountered the frustration in the process, we still made efforts. We expect to be awarded and obtain the honor for the school. We thus learn more about production of web pages on computer and obtain the knowledge. By this opportunity, we intend to demonstrate our talents.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

During this time, I have learned many things which I could not obtain in school and at home. It is what I realized after participating in Cyberfair. In the process, we encountered many obstacles, including “group members’ withdrawal, the problem of time, conflict of opinions and production of web pages”, etc. However, with continuous discussion and teachers’ assistance, we had found the solution.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

I took the students to participate in this online expo. I was very pleased to see that students are getting better and better. Even though they have encountered many difficulties, I will personally help them to complete the matter. The last problem is solved.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Let the historical landscape of the area be passed on to more people and let them know the characteristics and customs of the Wende Templ e.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

It was the great honor to participate in this Cyberfair. Everyone was responsible for their duties. Mr. Young-Chang Chen provided explanation in details. Everyone made efforts to produce the web pages and the teachers were devoted to instruction of web pages and content. The upper grader students with awarded Cyberfair projects were invited to practice the questions of interview with us. Everyone fulfilled the duties attentively.
