Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Qijin is a sandbank located on the south of Taiwan. It used to be named Qihou. As a popular tourist attraction, numerous tourists visit there for its historical remains; for example, Qihou Battery, Qihou Lighthouse, Tianhou Temple at Qihou, and YM Museum of Marine Exploration Kaohsiung, etc. Living near sea, the locals have a religion deeply in Matsu. It is also famous for a historical temple named Tianhou Temple which Matsu stays in and has been existing for 300 years. The rush tourist period is summer vacation when foreign tourists and students flock into Qijin to enjoy the beautiful beach, the shiny sunshine, and, the most well-known, magnificent sand sculptures. Some of them go there for as fresh as tasty seafood. There are two ways to Qijin. One is ferry on which passengers not only can feel the cool breeze blowing their faces but also smell the strong smell of seawater. The other one is driving through tunnel. It costs much more time, but a wonderful chatting time is awesome as well.

We hope to popularize Cijin with our website. Furthermore, we sincerely hope everyone to know the advantages of Cijin. On the website, we provide all kinds of information on Cijin, including traffic, attractions, history, environmental issues, and more. Through this information, it is easier and faster for people to know everything about it.

For our generation, the Internet is an indispensable system that is required for almost all technology products. The internet is very important to me, and it would not have been possible if I would not have contacted it for a day. The Internet is also becoming more and more useful, and today's well-established Internet can even support anything, including education.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

In the process , members of the team often disagree with each other’s proposals , however after the full discussion, we integrate our opinions and get a better conclusion. And another problem is that we often can’t work together because having different free time , then we decide to use group video and solve it successfully. And the most difficult is English translation, because our native language is Chinese, so we take a lot of time to let people in other countries understand our web narration.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Joining this project is a growing for us, it is also a Experience and test, and it means we have grown stronger than before when we finally finish it.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Combining education with the Internet is the educational policy of Taiwan's government. Through this competition, We learned teamwork, internet application and more. In the process, we worked with the team to deal with the difficulties, work together and discuss the contents of the project together. Our school promotes internationalization, so schools are more supportive of the projects we participate in and expect us to have good grades. The Internet teaching is definitely more convenient than the traditional teaching, and the flow of information is also faster, faster to receive new and correct content.
