Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Yuanlin Elementary school is located in Yuanlin city, Middle of Taiwan. It is an old school over a century and we just celebrated his 120 years birthday this year. We are top 5 largest school in Taiwan with more than 2100 teachers and students. our school provide multi-learning programs specialist in Math, Science, Music art and Sports.

This year we've chose our topic in Local music and art, and we're very honour that the expert of those Taiwanese childhood songs writer Mr. Fu-Zhen Shi lives in our town and he is a best representative of local dialect children songs, a winner of Biography Award.

2. Summary of Our Project

Our school program runs Native language class on Monday every week. 'Mr. Fu-Zhen Shi' a musician/writer of local dialect children songs, his most popular song named 'Dian-Zi-Jiao' we can easily sing out.

it's broadcasting often in our local radio stations and teachers in class will use his songs as teaching materials too. His unique way of representing children songs inspire our motivation to research in this area.

However, we've seeking for help from Ms. Cao, Head of School Teaching department, and explain our need. She invited few teachers and students to join us as a team for feature researches. We've rewrite few old popular children songs, interviews Mr. Fu-Zhen Shi, students interviewing their families and friends , and performance to local schools too.

a. The school's external network is a 100Mb fiber optic cable that connects Changhua County's network center. b. Campus network bandwidth backbone: 1Gb, feeder: 100Mb. c. Home computer network equipment mostly through broadband ADSL and community network access operations. d. Our school has 4 computer classrooms. We make use of every Friday morning self-study and holiday period to collect, organize, arrange, web content and website creation in computer classrooms and communities. e. Use the intranet server's cloud-based cloud sharing platform to share the storage space with Google Drive, and store the real-time data instantly.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We have to integrate the willingness of partners to participate in the online game competition. In fact, we encounter many difficulties and let us learn to overcome the difficulties. The procedures are described as follows: (1) Time: To integrate the time we can discuss together, search, interview, organize webpage information .... And so on, the other teams are also busy in the process of online over-the-top. (2) Subject: think about the direction of the competition, consider the topic, team name and research method .... Only once a week, the activity of the 120th birthday of the school is suspended for a long time, the supervisor is busy, and the appointment of the interviewee and the time ... ... And so on, so I adjusted again and again. (3) Match with time: Every week, we only have to take 40 minutes as early self-study time to meet the monthly test, school activities or special factors have to be suspended, often can not be fully attended ... and so on. (4) the concept of architecture: the beginning do not know how to set topics, modules, web architecture, etc., to think about how the topic content segmentation. (5) Organizing and using various technologies and media Problems that occur: We are a fifth-grader student of 'Fetion Reporter' and native language is a big challenge for us Director Cao help us to make up for, find a teacher to help find a music teacher to teach singing ... ... to overcome all kinds of difficulties.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We all learned to see, hear, learn, feel things, try to create it, the idea presented to report. We hope this special study: “Recreate a new nursery rhyme - our childhood songs. 1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Most of the electronic technology devices we use are borrowed from schools or smart phones using Mom and Dad to learn the importance of using every type of information device so that we can run smoothly and effectively. 3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

This time, we take local music art:“Recreate a new nursery rhyme - our childhood songs”.as the topic of study because our member Lin Guo Xiao is a native language day every Monday. We often hear songs on local radio in the native language During the classes, teachers also heard stories about 'spot gum', 'dark sky', 'slick riding around', 'big hoops', 'fire' and so on. 4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Through this special study, we feel the importance of attitude, respect, understanding and solidarity to everything, complete the communication and consultation with each other before the mission, and to learn to respect, understand and share with each other.
