Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Sanyu Primary School was founded in 1993 and since the foundation, it has provided the diversity of development. Based on “health, harmony and learning” of the school. The students cultivated are extremely excellent. In Sanyu Primary School, there are many extracurricular activities. The students often participate in the competitions out of the school and are awarded. The principal is kind and she told the students frequently, “we are the good students of Sanyu and we will stand out in the world”. The principal often encouraged the students to be the exceptional ones and she triggered their motives. The students study hard and will become good citizens.

2. Summary of Our Project

We are all curious about the historic spots and secrets on Shuiguan Road(Old Tianmu Hiking Trail)! Through the trail, we can visit Cuifeng Waterfall and “Cuifeng Trail” on Hou Dong Industrial Road, which is hidden in the forest of the mountain. In summer, different Primary schools come to Shuiguan Road to participate in Aqueduct Festival. The host presents the performance related to gratitude, such as music, drama and cross talk which are extremely impressive! However, we intend to change the entrance of Shuiguan Road. We designed the entrance of Shuiguan Road by Augmented Reality and 3D graphic design and discussed the color of intersection of Shuiguan Road. Everyone had his or her own opinions. We studied the entrance design on internet and the matching of color was concerned. In our opinion, black or white matches the most. Since the intersection design of park in foreign countries is mostly based on black, we proposed the white as intersection design of Shuiguan Road.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:more than 6

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):

Network of the school is provided by Ministry of Education. The environment is generally satisfying and the teachers can solve the problems for us.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The teacher told us that Shuiguan Road has been studied several years ago and thus we had to focus on the details of the trail, such as the entrance design by Augmented Reality, the program to stimulate tourism and possible development in the future. We plan the place by our ideas.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Although Aqueduct Festival of Shuiguan Road is held every year by school, through this learning, we realized how to create some interesting studies by computer. The process was difficult; however, it was meaningful.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Research project of Shuiguan Road is based on history of Tian Mu area and construction purpose of Shuiguan Road as topics which reveal the past of infrastructure in the Japanese colonial period of Taiwan. Students not only learn history through the textbook of society, but also more directly absorb the history. In addition, by information skills and team work, students introduce the characteristics of the place by web page design, 3D drawing and Augmented Reality.
